How We Got Here

In 2001, a fearless and persistent team of entrepreneurs set out to build a great audio and web conferencing technology company. We wanted to build a company that we would all be extremely proud of – one that succeeded in the market because of great products and remarkable customer service. We felt that if we could succeed at this, impassioned customer referrals would follow and our continued growth would be assured. When we began our journey, we were guided by a number of principles. Dan King, CEO

Dan King - Chief Executive Officer

Dan King is CEO of ReadyTalk and actively involved in the company’s strategic direction and day-to-day operations. He has more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and related fields. Prior to ReadyTalk, Dan held senior positions in business development and financial management for ICG Communications.

Dan and his brother, Scott, were recognized as Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2008 in the Software Services category for the Rocky Mountain Region.

Dan earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Master in Business Administration, Finance, from the University of Colorado, where he was a 3-sport letterman in indoor track, outdoor track and cross country. In July 2011, Dan won an age group gold medal in 8K Cross Country at the WMA World Masters Track and Field Championships. In 2012 Dan earned the title of World’s Fittest CEO® by winning the CEO Endurance World Championship. When Dan isn't running, skiing, golfing or cycling, he can be found spending time with his wife and children.

 
Scott King, co-founder

Scott King - Co-Founder and Executive VP, Sales & Marketing

Scott King is the co-founder and executive vice president of sales and marketing. Scott helped launch ReadyTalk in December of 2001 and is actively involved in building ReadyTalk’s wholesale and retail business. He has more than 25 years of experience in the communications industry and has led teams at both TellSoft Technologies and Hewlett-Packard's Telecommunications Systems Business.

Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Colorado while attending on a cross country and track scholarship. He continues to be an avid runner, enjoys coaching soccer and riding to work from Boulder to Denver with other avid cyclists from ReadyTalk.

 
Barb Stevens, COO

Barb Stevens - Chief Operations Officer

Barb Stevens is the COO and is responsible for operational leadership of ReadyTalk’s product delivery processes and the company’s technical support, operations, and product management resources. Barb brings exceptional focus in technology deployment, project management, product planning, and customer support.

Barb has a Bachelor of Environmental Design/Architecture from the University of Colorado and a Masters of International Management degree from the University of Denver. She spends her free time skiing and enjoying time outdoors with her family. She also likes to run, bike and swim.

 
Dan Cunningham, CTO

Dan Cunningham - Chief Technology Officer

Dan Cunningham is the CTO of ReadyTalk and is responsible for the overall technology strategy of the company as well as the management of ReadyTalk's software engineering resources. He is passionate about the building of technology to solve complex problems in creative and easy to use ways.

Dan earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Colorado. When he isn’t cooking something up in the Engineering Labs, you’ll find Dan cooking and enjoying wine. He’s also been known to spend his time at home developing iPhone and iPad apps as well as home automation software. He’s also an avid snowboarder.

 
Dan Grote, CFO

Dan Grote - Chief Financial Officer

Dan Grote joined ReadyTalk as the CFO in May, 2013, and is responsible for the financial leadership of the company. Dan brings over 20 years of software and technology finance experience, including time as the CFO of software provider netFactor and senior finance roles at Market Force Information and Verio. Dan has helped build companies from a couple employees and pre-revenue to thousands of employees and hundreds of millions in revenue.

Dan is a native of Colorado. He received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Colorado. He spends his free time coaching his son’s football team, watching his son play basketball, baseball, or track, and watching his daughter play volleyball and tennis. Dan also enjoys playing golf, time permitting.

 
Kevin Payne, VP Sales

Kevin Payne - Vice President, Sales

Kevin is Vice President of sales at ReadyTalk and is responsible for our Outbound sales organization as well as our Account Management group. Kevin’s primary focus is on –boarding new accounts and delivering best in class customer service to ReadyTalk customers. He has extensive experience in all areas of sales leadership and is passionate about ReadyTalk being recognized as the premiere sales and account management services company in our industry.

Kevin has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Ohio State University and spends most of his free time with his family including coaching his children’s sports teams. He is also an avid golfer and tennis player.
