We think video clip playback is a great new feature that will enable you to create engaging and memorable presentations. We’ve seen it used in many successful situations from a professionally produced product commercial, to a short CEO update in an all company meeting. This feature improves the ROI of your professionally produced content by allowing you to re purpose it to a live audience and through the recordings you generate. The playback experience for participants and presenters is exceptional as there is very minimal buffering. This means that your participants will be seeing the videos you push to them in real time creating a seamless viewing experience.

But what happens if a participant leaves the webinar early, or if the chairperson doesn’t immediately end the meeting?  In the past, you may have missed the opportunity to get valuable feedback.  Now, you can include a link to the post-event survey in your follow-up email to anyone that attended the meeting, but didn’t fill out the survey.

Check out this new functionality:

• How to Include the Post-Meeting Survey Link in Post-Meeting Email
  • By default, the functionality is enabled and is only included in the Post-Meeting Email to Attendees who have not completed the survey. This will avoid duplicate responses from your participants.

• If the box is checked to include the post-meeting survey link, the text and button highlighted below for the post-meeting survey link will always display in the preview. However, if an attendee already completed the survey prior the post-meeting email being sent, the text and button will not be included.

• Do you want to include a custom survey link instead?
  • If you choose to send attendees to a custom survey link, the option to include a post-meeting survey link in the post-meeting email is automatically disabled and no longer available.

• Better quality meeting visuals than trying to project: Have you ever held a meeting where you are hoping to project some visuals only to spend the first 15 minutes of the meeting trying to adjust your computers resolution so the visuals will project in a somewhat normal size? How about dealing with the colors that never look right on projectors? ReadyTalk enables you to share your screen with any participant and will automatically scale your screen to their native resolution in full color clarity.

• Multitasking is much easier (and more productive): Lets face it, we’re all going to multitask in a meeting. • Record your meeting: Often times you will be missing someone who is vital to the meeting or you’ll simply want to take notes on what was discussed. Since you’re already running a ReadyTalk meeting you might as well record it using our recording functionality. ReadyTalk gives you extremely easy one-click recording abilities so you can focus on your meeting and not getting the technology set up.

Let’s talk specifics – specifically events: virtual, live, or even a hybrid of the two. Marketing departments are beginning to make significant changes in how they use events to market their products or services. With options in technology, budget and social innovations, there are numerous ways to produce (and market) events and conferences.  As marketers, we know how crucial the planning piece is, so if our strategy is outdated, our initiatives fall short and goals are not met. Currently the process for uploading and playing back your pre-recorded video clip is a 4 step process (see diagram below). When this feature becomes generally available (first half of 2012), the process for uploading and playing back your videos in the live presentation will be very similar to uploading and inserting slides into the ReadyTalk Conference Controls.

In the past couple of weeks, there has been a lot of attention around Adobe’s decision to use HTML 5 for mobile applications and games rather than use Flash. This announcement has led to speculation on what this means for web conferencing vendors that use Flash. Flash will be around for a long time
While Adobe is no longer using Flash for mobile devices, ReadyTalk expects Flash to be around for a long time on the desktop. Flash is currently installed on 98 percent of computers, making it the best option for easily accessing your Web conference.

Beth is a Product Marketing Manager and works with our customers to understand their needs as they relate to event services and our conference center, which is used to setup the details of our clients’ upcoming meetings. Outside of the office, Beth loves to spend time with family and friends, cook, and hit the slopes.

Like most companies, at ReadyTalk, we have a lot of meetings. We even have the dreaded “meeting about an upcoming meeting.”

A typical meeting in the marketing department means that most of the participants are in a conference room but one or two people are usually working from home; and there’s always a launch plan being discussed and it’s usually an Excel file.

Obviously, we use ReadyTalk’s web conferencing service to share the document and make changes. Even though we are all around a conference table with a projector in the room sometimes it’s just more convenient to participate on your own laptop. Because it’s an internal meeting and it’s not a structured meeting, we never decide whose access code we’re using until we’re all on the call. Once we decide, everyone jumps out to our website and logs in that way – it doesn’t take long but it’s always a distraction.

Not anymore.

Yesterday, the ReadyTalk Quick Launcher was released. It has a lot of great features, but my favorite is “Join a Meeting.” It makes joining a meeting so fast! Here’s how:

Right click on Quick Launcher icon in the task bar and select Join Web Meeting:

Enter the access code of the meeting you want to join:

And that’s it; you’re automatically connected to your meeting.

Internally, we’ve been using this feature for weeks while Quick Launcher was in Beta. It’s so easy to use and makes it simple to get an ad-hoc meeting going quickly.
