New from ReadyTalk - Chat Q&A Enhancements

If you’ve run a webinar before, you’ve probably done the intricate dance of managing the chat window while trying to pull off a smooth presentation. As you may have experienced, this is no easy task.

This week, ReadyTalk released new enhancements to its Q&A Management feature simplifying this process and allowing the chairperson and presenters to work in unison.

Some of the benefits of ReadyTalk’s enhanced chat management include:

  • Flag incoming chats as “Questions” or “Answered,” and add them to the queue for presenters to answer, follow up later or marked as answered.
  • Keep presenters focused solely on the “Questions” tab so they only see the questions which come through.
  • Better reporting and categorizing allows you to sort chats by conversation, making it easier for the organizer to follow up or turn questions into important pieces of content.

Is there a way to bundle the answers with the questions? So that in the "Answered" tab it would show each Question and Answer together clearly. Maybe an Answer option on the right click button that allows you to type in a response that is then tied with it?

Hi Jim,

There is no way to do that today but I will absolutely enter this as a feature request for you. Today the Q&A functionality works best when handling the queued up chats through a verbal Q&A. You can however right click on a chat in the chat, questions, or answered tab and then open up a new chat window to personally reply to the person chatting. In addition the chat report is now able to be sorted by participant name so you can see a threaded conversation of the chats back and forth regarding their question. It would be helpful if we had the option to skip the step of flagging something as a question, and just respond and go right to 'answered.' Also, if we could respond directly under the 'questions' tab instead of having to go back to 'chat' or open a new window. Thanks for the consideration!

Will we be able to have more than one moderator- or will others have the ability to mark questions as answered?

Hi Rachel,

Yes you can right click a participant in the list and promote as many as you desire to "co-presenter" status. In this mode they are able to flag questions and flag questions as answered. In this way you can have as many people as necessary helping manage chat. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thanks!
