The Business Development Manager is responsible for uncovering new business within existing account base, with a focus on account revenue growth and saturation. 

 

Description:

The Business Development Manager will partner with our Marketing and Account Management teams to identify and close new business opportunities within existing customers, expand usage and provide customer referrals for the ReadyTalk Sales Team. They will analyze business need and implement strategies to offer new services and products. The BDM will look to grow multi-threaded relationships within an account, focusing on cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across multiple use cases, including webinar and collaboration/conferencing. Our BDMs are self-motivated, well organized, creative problem solvers. They have excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and understand the importance of working closely with ReadyTalk’s client services team. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate these attributes along with an energetic, persistent and outcome-focused passion for increasing business relationships and revenue. This is a Hunter on the Farm role. 

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with all key account contacts through proactive face to face, phone, and on-line interactions
  • Partner with Account Managers to conduct strategic account reviews, performing needs assessment and identifying new opportunities for ReadyTalk services
  • Partner with account decision makers to evaluate and optimize feature sets and overall revenue opportunities
  • Communicate with existing account holders to discuss service experiences and obtain feedback on new feature opportunities; identify customer needs
  • Work with existing customer base to identify opportunities for referrals, growth and account saturation
  • Effectively manage a pipeline of growth opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell of new services
  • Build referral and lead generation networks
  • Comfortable dealing with C-level decision makers in IT, Sales, and Marketing
  • Address and escalate client concerns
  • Achieve monthly/quarterly revenue quota by moving growth opportunities to closure

 

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in an Account Management or Sales role
  • Experience selling SaaS or other technology products or services, a customer-first approach to  building strong relationships and business partnerships, and a demonstrated success in growing customer revenue in breadth and depth
  • Experience working with Account Management and/or Sales teams to collaborate on joint selling opportunities
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

 

Skills and Proficiencies:

  • Effective and professional communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks in a timely manner
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to solve problems independently and work well with various team members across different departments
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong, trustworthy relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Ability to create tactical sales plans driven by activities and engagement that lead to pipeline growth and closing business
  • Technical curiosity and aptitude to learn and consult with customers about technical aspects of the RT service
  • Self-motivated with strong desire to achieve team and individual goals without daily direction from management
  • Proficient with MS Office products (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Salesforce experience is a strong plus
  • Experience using audio and web conferencing platforms, a plus
